Awards
Team Trophies
Trophies are awarded to team members that demonstrate excellence in their athletic ability, personal character and are respected by their coaches, team mates and parents. All trophies are to be decided upon by the coaching staff only. The head coach will notify the VP of the team on the names of the award recipients. No swimmer shall receive more than one trophy. A candidate will not be penalized for missing swim meets. The awards are not gender or age group restrictive except for the high point award. (gender only) The awards will be presented at the annual team banquet at the end of the regular dual meet season.
Outstanding 8&U
This award is reserved for the 8 and under swimmers who can swim all 4 strokes, have scored points during the regular season, contribute to the relay teams and demonstrate a willingness to improve over the season. The number of trophies selected should reflect the number of top swimmers in this age group. An average amount to be awarded is 4 to 6 trophies. A smaller trophy will be presented to all recipients as a group.
Most Improved
This award will be presented to the swimmers that have demonstrated improvement throughout the season. Improvement to be based on their strokes, times, team participation and overall commitment to improving themselves. This award may have up to five recipients.
Hustle Award
This award will be presented to the swimmers that demonstrate the idea that hard work creates success. They work hard at practice, swim meets, and show an overall willingness to improve themselves by working to the best of their ability. This award may have up to five recipients.
Most Dedicated
This award will be presented to the swimmers that demonstrate their commitment to the team. They attend most of the practices and swim meets. They volunteer to help the team and coaches. They lead their team mates in a positive manner. This award will have 2 recipients.
High Point
This award will be presented to the one boy and one girl swimmer who have scored the most points during the regular season. This award will have 2 recipients.
Most Versatile
This award will be presented to the swimmers that demonstrate an experienced knowledge of all 4 strokes and can successfully compete in any event. This award will have 2 recipients.
Most Outstanding
This award will be presented to the swimmers that demonstrate a level of excellence when they swim at meets. That level would include placing at the top of races they swim and or breaking team/league records. The overall effort they demonstrate is known to be outstanding by their coaches and peers. This award will have 2 recipients.
Spirit Award
This award will be presented to the swimmers that display an overall enthusiastic commitment to the team. They cheer, encourage and energize their team mates. They act in a selfless manner that benefits everyone on the team. This award will have 2 recipients.
Coach’s Award
This award will be presented to the swimmers that have spent most of their youth on the swim team. Their contribution is measured by their commitment in making the team a better experience for all. They are respected by their team mates, coaches and parents. This award will have 2 recipients.
Senior Plaques
All graduating high school seniors that participate on the team will receive a plaque. This award does not count as a trophy. The plaque will be presented to all recipients as a group.
